Benjamin likes to lock all doors if he can. He kept locking his door and I use to be able to pop it open with a credit card.....until one day. One day the door would NOT just "POP" like normal so I had to get the screw driver out and remove the handle. So since I had the knob off I thought "maybe turn the knob around to lock from the outside!" Thinking that I am being brilliant and I have heard of other people doing this to their toddlers doors. But this idea turned on me one cold busy winter morning. I was in Benjamin's room putting laundry away and I heard the door close. I asked Benjamin if he had LOCKED it.....and he said YES!!!! I started crying because I knew that we could not get out because I had turned the lock around and there was nothing in Benjamin's room to use to BUST out!!! So Benjamin and I spent 30-45minutes locked in his room. I tried using the shovel pictured below to break open the door but I did more damage to the shovel and to my hands then the door. I tried opening the window but it was frozen shut!!!! We said a few prayers and our loving Heavenly Father answered. I looked out the window and saw that my neighbor downstairs car was there. So I started pounding on the floor and yelling HELP!!! Finally the maintenance men came and unlocked the door!!! So I took the door knob off and left it off for the rest of the day......SO NEVER TURN THE DOOR KNOB AROUND!!!!
